Joan & Joseph Birman Research Prize Selection Committee
Composition: The selection committee consists of four members on staggered four year appointments. The chair of the committee is one of the two members serving in her or his fourth years.
Charge: The selection committee should identify and select a women who has made outstanding contributions to the fields of geometry and topology as well as urge departmental chairs and other colleagues to nominate candidates for the prize. The committee is also charged to write a citation for the winning candidate and to communicate the decision and citation to the President, Executive Director and the Managing Director.
