The Association for Women in Mathematics (AWM) has made significant strides in promoting gender equity and diversity in the field of mathematics. One of the ways it has accomplished this is by establishing Research Networks for Women that aim to increase the visibility and representation of women researchers in various mathematical fields. In this panel, we will discuss the resources that the AWM has made available for creating and sustaining such networks, provide an overview of some of the types of activities in which these networks have engaged, and give participants an opportunity to discuss the rewards and challenges of starting and maintaining such networks.
