The goal of this session is to connect undergraduate and graduate students from different universities, disciplines, and levels. Graduate students will moderate a discussion on topics related to the understanding of what it means to be a graduate student and how to make the most out of this experience. This will be a space to discuss the ins and outs of going to graduate school from both a practical perspective, by addressing concerns related to the application process, selecting a school, and navigating the advisor-advisee relationship, and from a social and emotional perceptive, by addressing the topics of work-life balance, finding community, and self-advocating. We aim for this session to be a safe space for students to freely discuss these topics, and therefore respectfully limit the participants to students.
