Gender Equity in the Mathematical Study (GEMS) of Commutative Algebra
November 10 - November 12
Gender Equity in the Mathematical Sciences (GEMS) of Commutative Algebra will be held November 10 – 12, 2023 at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, MN. The workshop will consist of three 50-minute plenary talks accompanied by problem sessions and three 20-minute talks by advanced graduate students. All invited speakers are either women or non-binary mathematicians. There will also be an opportunity for participants to present their own work (either as a poster or as a lightning talk), facilitated opportunities for professional development conversations, and catered meals to facilitate socializing and networking.
The workshop is primarily aimed at women and non-binary graduate students in their first through third years of a Ph.D. program who are interested in commutative algebra. A core goal of the workshop is the promotion of a community of women and non-binary mathematicians.
