Women in Commutative Algebra (WICA) II
October 16 - October 20
The main objectives of this workshop are to advance commutative algebra through cutting-edge research, to promote the research of women in commutative algebra, to facilitate collaborative interaction between junior and senior mathematicians, and to provide mentoring for early career mathematicians.
We aim to help cultivate a research network among women commutative algebraists, including those from historically underrepresented groups, from universities with a teaching focus and small colleges, and those isolated geographically from potential collaborators.
Building on the WICA I model, we will divide the WICA II participants into smaller working groups. Each group will focus on a different research problem, directed by leaders in the field. The rest of the group members will be selected based on applications. The organizers will also work with the leaders in selecting group members with the appropriate training, expertise, and interest for each project.
