A Glimpse into Data Science

Neha Bora

Neha works along and across AI/machine learning/data science, business, product, and software engineering teams and am passionate about applying well-managed software engineering principles to data science.

Neha holds a Master’s degree in Applied Mathematics from Iowa State and dual BS/MS degrees in Physics from the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research, Pune.

Currently, Neha works as a Tech lead at Walmart and is focused on building Generative AI applications. Prior to Walmart, she worked at Capital One and is focused on developing a risk model that helps the business minimize losses by optimizing engagement with customers after they have charged off their credit cards. Prior to joining Capital One, she worked at Snagajob and Optimus, researching and implementing a wide range of ML solutions from NLP models to US elections forecasting.

Sherli Koshy-Chenthittayil

Sherli Koshy-Chenthittayil is an applied mathematician and educator with interests in mathematical biology and STEM education. She is also invested in increasing diversity in STEM, particularly, with respect to students with disabilities. She currently works as a Data Analyst with the Office of Institutional Effectiveness, Touro University Nevada.

Melissa Ngamini

Melissa Ngamini is currently working as a Lead Data Scientist at ADP focused on planning projects and building data science models to help improve business decisions. In addition to that, Melissa enjoys volunteering as the Head of Education for ATLytiCS. ATLytiCS is an Atlanta based Non-Profit Organization focused on creating a community of individuals empowered to pursue work in the data analytics field, providing new pathways to economic opportunity by offering a data analytics training and certification program. Melissa obtained a Bachelor of Science in Pure Mathematics from Morgan State University in Baltimore, Maryland in May 2009. In 2015, Melissa obtained a Doctor of Philosophy in Applied Mathematics from North Carolina State University in Raleigh, North Carolina.

Dipanwita Saha

Dipanwita Saha, Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics from University of Houston, transitioned from academia to industry to solve real-world business challenges at scale. With experience at Cubic and GE as a data scientist, Dipanwita now drives the ads business at eBay as an Applied Researcher , building impactful models for advertising strategies.
