We are a group of female+ mathematical physicists organizing regular workshops under the title “Women in Mathematical Physics”. The main goals of our workshops are two:
- Research: Make progress on open problems of high interest in diverse areas of Mathematical Physics.
- Networking: Bring senior and junior female mathematical physicists together to attack research projects on topics of common interest, thereby expanding the mentorship networks of women in the field.
To achieve these goals, we follow the established, successful format of previous female-only events like “Women in Topology” or “Women in Geometry.” This format is characterized by establishing, prior to the workshop, research groups (with leaders being more senior) around concrete research questions, to be tackled by the teams before, during, and/or after the workshop. During the workshop there is ample time for the research groups to work on their respective projects, and there will be several introductory talks, networking activities, and discussions.
